Frothy sits at the intersection of surf culture, live music, and community-driven events. Over an ongoing creative partnership, I have developed apparel graphics and promotional artwork for product releases, festival collaborations, and music-related campaigns.
The objective has been to create distinctive and unique designs that feel authentic to Frothy's laid-back coastal identity, while resonating with audiences across surf, music, and streetwear culture.

Across the collection of work, the creative approach draws from vintage surf graphics, music merchandise, DIY culture, and nostalgic print techniques. Custom illustration, expressive typography, distressed textures, and limited colour palettes are often used to create designs with strong visual impact while remaining wearable and commercially viable.
Project One: Spaced Out Festival (2025/2026)
The challenge: Create an exclusive event tee that merged Frothy's surf-inspired identity, with the psychedelic energy of Spaced Out Festival.
The Solution: I developed a custom illustration featuring an alien DJ floating above a set of turntables, combining playful storytelling with a bold graphic silhouette. The artwork was treated with a vintage halftone texture, and produced using a monochromatic palette on a washed black garment. These paired techniques created a timeless festival merchandise aesthetic. The final design successfully captured the spirit of the collaboration, while remaining instantly recognisable as a Frothy product.
Project Two: Half Baked - Music Event (2025/2026)
The challenge: Design collab merchandise for ”Half Baked”, a two-date live music event built around the tagline "Not a festival, just a sick gig."
The Solution: The design direction embraced a raw, DIY aesthetic inspired by punk gig posters and underground music culture. Ransom-style typography, distressed imagery, and bold graphic treatments were combined with a reverse ringer tee silhouette to create a piece that felt intentionally imperfect and highly collectable.
The release sold out, further strengthening the relationship between Frothy's merchandise offering and its event audience.
Project Three: Frothy x VLADS Australian Tour (2026)
The challenge: Create a tour tee that celebrated the collaboration between Frothy and emerging Australian band “VLADS” while supporting the release of the band's debut EP.
The Solution: Built around the tour theme "World Domination," the artwork introduced bold red accents that aligned with VLADS' evolving visual identity. A visually customised dog asset featuring the band's signature elongated tongue acted as a visual reference for existing fans, while creating a memorable hero graphic for the garment.
The final design combined elements of traditional tour merchandise with Frothy's relaxed coastal aesthetic, resulting in a distinctive crossover between surf and music culture. The Board shorts pictured below were also part our Frothy x VLADS collaboration, and stemmed from the aesthetics and summer feeling of the T-shirt.
Results
This ongoing partnership has produced a diverse collection of apparel graphics, event merchandise, and collaborative releases that continue to strengthen Frothy's presence within Australia's surf and live music communities.
The work demonstrates an ability to translate brand identity into commercially successful apparel while adapting creative direction across different audiences, events, and collaborations.
