“Between Raw Expression and Refined Design”.

Josie, (also known as @sociallydesigned), is a multidisciplinary creative working across graphic design, illustration, and photography. Guided by instinct, precision, and purpose, she builds bold visual work that connects people, ideas, and culture.

Originally from Coffs Harbour and now based in Newcastle, NSW, her practice is grounded in storytelling and shaped by music, culture, and human connection. She creates work that sits between the raw and the refined, balancing hand-drawn expression with contemporary digital design, always led by concept and feeling.

With a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design, Josie brings both technical skill and intuitive direction to her process. Her work isn’t only about looking good, but is also about evoking a feeling and demanding action. She approaches every project with curiosity and a strong visual language, moving fluidly between branding, illustration, photography, and creative direction.

Her experience includes collaborations with brands and reputable associations including ARIA, and independent artists such as The Terrys. This mix of commercial and underground work has shaped a versatile, instinct-led creative practice.

“Josie is an absolute dream to work with. Not only is she incredibly talented with an amazing eye for design, but she is also one of the most supportive, accommodating and genuine people you’ll meet. She has designed three major shows for me and has gone above and beyond every single time. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and she always brings creativity, professionalism and heart to every project. I truly love working with Josie and couldn’t recommend her more highly. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about your vision and delivers exceptional results, she’s your person.
